Imagine that, we completed our mission! Montana was the last state of all the lower 48 states on our bucket list and with a lot of backtracking for special events like a wedding, graduations, reunions and babies born, we conquered all 48 states in 18+ months. Woo hoo!
Now, we’re wrapping up our trip and heading to the Pacific Northwest via Idaho. What will we do next? Standby.
On our way to Anacortes, WA, where Erin & JP currently live aboard Clarity (their 42ft Nordic Tug) with Kuda (Erin’s Diva dog), we’ll be passing Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and the North Cascades Mountains. So, we’ll have to tell you about those places first.
Our campsite in Coeur d’Alene National Forest, Blackwell Island, is a popular water sports place right by a marina on the lake. It must be an unwritten rule, but just about every RV towing a vehicle, aka ‘toads’, towed a Jeep. All sorts of Jeeps, from Wranglers to Grand Cherokees, in all sorts of colors & regalia. Being Jeep enthusiasts ourselves, have owned 5 Jeeps, we had to take pics of this Jeep mania!

Heading further west, we decided to take the northwestern route via Colville National Forest and found a small back-country campground by another small lake. With absolutely no internet, wi-fi, phone service or TV, we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the woods and watching families with their children frolic in the lake. Such simple pleasures.
After a couple of days decompressing, we headed towards the North Cascade Mountains….. to be continued.
