We're still waiting for all that sunshine and gorgeous weather Florida promised! Where is it??? Instead we're holed up south of Ft. Pierce due to severe weather alerts in a swampy marsh campground which is getting swampier and marshier as the rains are saturating the sandy soils.
Tornado warnings, high winds with gusts that will surely pummel Gertrude to the ground and torrential rains... guess we'll stay here for another day! As long as the alligators stay away and Gertrude's levelers and tires aren't sinking in the soft sandy soil, we're good!
The water line is rising and the place is starting to flood... Yikes... but our Tres Amigos, the 3 Herons who decided that this is a good feeding ground, are giving us some semblance of hope that the weather will lighten up and we should be able to continue our explorations. At least it is not cold :-)
