We've traveled more in the month of May than all the other months combined. Can you blame us,... we were motivated! One, we had to run away from all the bad weather and second, and MOST important.... we have to reach Seattle to go Wedding Dress Shopping!!!! Yee...haw...! We're sooo excited, tomorrow we pick Erin up from the airport and then we'll check out Whidbey Island where the wedding will be held and then..... 'say YES to the dress'! Sorry, can't show you any pics.......
JP may take a peek
But now, to continue with our story telling time. We left Nevada... drove 400 miles on the loneliest road in the US, got to the west border, stayed the night in Sparks, NV... did some work, hit the road to Tule Lake where the Lava Beds are (Northern CA), took a peek at Smith Rock, took a detour to Crater Lake.... WOW absolutely a MUST SEE...then continued north to Mt. St. Helens where we stayed by the Columbia River. After getting lost in Mt. St. Helens National Park (Ms. GPS is worthless and no internet for Google maps, and no detailed paper map - even with my magnifying glass, we couldn't find the roads), we decided that Gertrude is too chubby to navigate the twists and turns of the mountain (we'll have to save for next time). We then bee-lined further north to Lake Sammamish (NE of Seattle). Check out our 'Travel in Pictures' page for some amazing photos.
Oh, our story would not be complete without photos from all the wildlife we've seen along the way, from a baby Elk in Grand Canyon (which I couldn't capture on photo) to cattle, calves, horses, colts, ducks, geese, ravens, condors (couldn't snap a pic of that one either), hawks, buzzards (they always fly in three's), and many many beautiful birds including a Horned Owl and her nest! I decided to add another page dedicated to these random shots along the way.
Enjoy our new page 'Wildlife & Flowers'.
Now, we'll stay put here at Sammamish Lake for a week or so to do the wedding planning with Erin & JP!

Allan the fly-terminator (yes, that's his lethal weapon - a rubber band) and, Allan the photographer... no he's not praying... just trying to get a real close-up for his bug pics!
