Did you know that Elvis had a twin brother named Jessie Garon Presley. He apparently did not survive his birth. | We got derailed a bit. In the Western States we saw such beautiful geologic landscapes and now in the South East, I'm getting educated and learning about the Civil War! So much to tell. So rather than giving you the story of my education in bits and pieces, I'm going to derail you to..... yes.... Graceland, Memphis TN. Too funny, right, especially since we're not really Elvis fans... but, hey, when in TN one hasta swing by Graceland, just to say 'bin der dun dat' and check it off the ole bucket list. Well, let me tell you, Elvis' accomplishments were indeed astounding. No wonder so many people are still crazy about him. Mind you, we were here in the off-season and there were still throngs of people wanting the have the Elvis Experience. Elvis came from very humble beginnings. He was born in a little house (see the model on the left) in Tupelo, MS. We actually camped in Tupelo... we had no idea! Shucks, we're all shook up... we could've seen his birthplace! :-) |
The city tour took us there to experience this silliness, and indeed, like good little duckies, when the time came... on they went marching on the red carpet herded by a most formally attired Duck Master complete with a Duck Cane and flanked by two youngsters, the newest recipients of the young duck protectors award. Again, too bad I can't upload the video. What is actually more amazing is that there were literally a throng of people waiting to see this show of the Duck March. Don't know who's sillier to watch, the ducks or the people. Oh wait, we were there too watching this march... Quack!
